Dimapur, December 10: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, Yanthungo Patton was the host of the morning session of the 23rd Hornbill festival at Kisama on December 10.
Cultural Troupes performed from six districts including Chakhesang, Pochury, Sumi, Kuki, Ao, and Kachari. Chakhesang Cultural Troupe demonstrated the significance of Sükrünye and the activities held during the Feast of Merit. They threw a piece of meat to the audience and a lucky person received it adding to the delight of the crowd.
Advisor for Prisons, Printing, and Stationary, H. Haiying, Special Secretary (Home), S.R. Saravan, IPS, and other dignitaries accompanied the Dy. CM.
Meanwhile, Patton visited the Art Exhibition Stall at Kisama Hornbill festival.
In his short visit to stalls, he expressed happiness on seeing the Naga Portraits and mentioned the need to encourage the young generation specially Konyaks to preserve their art and culture. He also bought an acrylic frame named “Withering Ancestry” by Vineizotuo Tase costing Rs. 80,000. He was accompanied by Advisor for Prisons, Printing and Stationary, H. Haiying, and other officials.
