Dimapur, September 28: The Darogapathar Village Council (DVC) in support of Darogapathar Youth Organization conducted a surprise checking against illegal commercial activities like selling of illicit liquor, lottery, gambling and other illegal consumable products/substance within Darogapathar village on September 27.
Those found indulging in the illegal activities were made to close shop with immediate effect and warned not to continue the illegal activity within the village jurisdiction, said a DVC release.
Informing that the property where such illegal activity are taking place will be sealed and taken over by the village council, the DVC cautioned all landlords to check and ensure that such illegal activities are not allowed in their (leased) premises.
DVC also expressed gratitude to the Chekiye Youth Front for participating in the surprise check along the commercial areas of the two villages.
