DTF on COVID-19 holds meet at Kiphire, Tuensang

Dimapur, April 10: Kiphire DTF for Covid-19 held a meeting on April 8 at the DPDB hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sarita Yadav IAS.
The meeting agreed that Kiphire District Hospital will be converted to ‘Isolation Centre’ (Covid-19 Hospital) and general patients will have to be shifted to the old building (Kiphire District hospital).
DUDA girls hostel, DUDA boys hostel, 14 IR Camp and Zisaji Presidency College Kiphire were also identified for quarantine. While in Pungro Sub-Division GA Rest House has been marked for purpose of quarantine.
CMO Kiphire informed that one ventilator has been received and it will be placed at the Covid-19 ICU. Apart from this, he informed the receipt of 40 PPE, 1750 N95 mask, five thermal scanner, 2900 triple layer mask. five bottles 500 ml hand sanitizer and distributed to hospitals at Pungro, Longmatra, Amahator, Sitimi and Likhimro.
Deputy Commissioner Sarita IAS appreciated the Medical Department, the Police department and the civil societies for co-operating well with the administration in fight against Covid-9. She reminded the members that the grant in aid sanctioned under RD has to be judiciously utilized for the purpose of quarantine in the villages. She further informed that all supplies received in connection Covid-19 should be distributed with the knowledge of the chairperson DTF.
Superintendent of Police Kiphire in his briefing has said that the law and order situation in Kiphire is normal. He also added that International Border have been sealed by setting up checkpoints at the junctions of Longmatra, Yangzitong, and Longthonger.
Tuensang: The Tuensang District Task Force against COVID 19 held a review meeting in the DC’s conference hall Tuensang on April 9 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Kumar Ramnikant.
In the meeting, it was informed that two more quarantine centres at Sao Chang Government College and Government Polytechnic Sedam has been designated.
Since from now there will be only institutional quarantine, Dr. John, Nodal Officer Tuensang for COVID 19 updated on the equipment and facilities of the district to the house. The forum also discussed on the containment plan for which ADC Tuensang and ECS have been entrusted to finalize the plan.
The house also decided to conduct a mock drill as awareness and preparedness check. The forum also discussed on extra checking on trespassing by local commuters in the Myanmar border.
