DTF meetings held at Peren, Tuensang

Dimapur, May 2: In view of the rapid surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the State and the urgent need for taking necessary measures for preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the District, Peren District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 held a meeting at DC’s Conference Hall on April 30 under the chairmanship of DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS.

DSO, Dr. D.K apprised the members about the latest consolidated guidelines, revised SOP for returnees and travelers and revised guidelines for home isolation issued by the Home Department.
In compliance to the State Government’s standing guidelines on movement of public transportation services/passenger vehicles, the board agreed to limit the passenger capacity to 50% of total occupancy with strict adherence of COVID-19 appropriate behaviours. Meanwhile, the board also decided to enhance the passenger rate wherein ADC Jalukie was entrusted to discuss with the Taxi Association. The board decided to implement 30% of the sitting capacity/100 persons in religious places or place of worship subject to strict SOP.
Regarding entry of returnees/ travelers into the district without the knowledge of the concerned authority, the house has directed Village councils/Urban local bodies to identify any new returnees arriving in their respective jurisdiction and also immediately report to the DTF. The board also requested the Additional SP to inform the Police Personnel manning the Check-Gates to strictly monitor inbound travelers and also maintain proper records of the persons entering.
The board also decided to remind again all the Village/ Ward Authority to set up Village Task Force/Ward Task Force and also assist the DTF/SDTF in whatever way possible.
DIO Peren, Dr. Kiholi, while highlighting on the COVID-19 Vaccination coverage and Vaccine status of Peren District, informed the members that a total of 6,734 doses have been administered till now and a total of 7,490 doses of COVID vaccine are currently available.
Tuensang District Task Force for COVID-19 held a meeting at DC’s Conference Hall Tuensang under the chairmanship of DC and Chairman DTF, Tuensang Kumar Ramnikant.
The meeting was convened to discuss on the SOP issued by the Government. The members were concerned about the rush of public at ATM booths for which the house agreed to provide security to maintain the social distancing.
The CMO updated on the check gate, established at the 3rd NAP, to collect the data of returnees which will then pass it to respective wards to help the wards leaders to help identify and monitor the prescribed quarantine period at home and for contact tracing cases. The house also agreed to go for random testing of the truck before entering the town.

The DC asked the members to monitor the construction of the oxygen plan at DH Tuensang and the house also earmarked members to supervise for speedy completion at top priority.
The house also decided to activate the random testing at risk potential area at Tuensang town. Town hall,Tuensang will also be activated as vaccination center which will be openall day. (Page News Service)
