DTF meet on BBBP held at Mkg


Dimapur, September 26: Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS convened a meeting of the District Task Force Committee on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme on September 21 in the ADC (Planning) conference hall, Mokokchung.
The Deputy Commissioner said that BBBP programme is a national campaign under the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India with its slogan and objective to safeguard and educate the girl child at bar with the male gender in the country. He informed the Board that in Mokokchung district, girl child sex ratio declined from 989 in 2001 to 949 in 2011, which he said is a great concern for all. In order to counter and find ways to solve the problem, he sought support, participation and cooperation from all the members and to utilize the opportunity and safeguard our girl child for tomorrow, he invited the members to contribute new ideas and plan programmes on the campaign.
Nodal officer, SDO (C) Mekala Chaitanya Prasad delivered a powerpoint presentation highlighting the overall national statistics report on the campaign topic accompanied by documentary films. He also presented the key action points like awareness generation, community mobilizing, reward and recognition of girl child.
The Task Force Committee was represented by administration, police, Health & Family Welfare, Education, Welfare and Legal Services Authority.
