DTF Longleng reviews COVID-19 preparedness

Dimapur, April 25: The Longleng District Task Force on COVID-19 on Friday deliberated on the urgent need for posting of an Anesthesiologist at COVID-19 Hospital, Longleng.
In a review meeting held on April 24, representatives of NGOs and civil societies, who are co-opted members of the DTF, expressed displeasure with the Department for not deploying an Anesthesiologist to the lone hospital and asserted that it was an injustice to the people of Longleng District. They demanded that the matter be taken to the Government for necessary action at the earliest.
Pichano Kikon, EAC Yachem presented a power point on the structure of COVID-19 Incident Response System comprising of various sections, the roles and responsibilities of each sections and checklist for effective response to combat COVID-19.
The meeting also deliberated on requisition of vehicle and driver for transportation of COVID-19 corpse, identifying of burial and cemetery, safe disposal of COVID-19 corpse, manpower and volunteers from NGOs and civil societies to assist the operation section, awareness programme & directions to village council, training for volunteers, mock drill on COVID-19 IRS system and detail action plan with relevant to Longleng District.
The CMO Longleng also presented action plan prepared by the medical department, Longleng.
Deputy Commissioner Longleng, who is the chairman of the DTF on COVID-19, appealed to all the members to be aware about their respective roles and responsibilities. He urged the members to give suggestions with relevant to the district to have detail action plan to combat COVID-19. He also appealed to the NGOs and churches to play a vital role and extend their support to the DTF.
