Drug-free India campaign held at Bhandari

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 20: A sensitization workshop on addressing substance use – Prevention and Treatment – was organized by Social Welfare department in collaboration with ARK Foundation and Bethesda YWC on February 19 at Bhandari town hall.
The programme was conducted with representatives and delegates from the civil society organizations, NGOs and drug users where the resource persons spoke on various subjects concerning substance use and the role of the local shareholders.
SDO (C) Bhandari, Sulanthung appealed to the young people to abstain from drugs and tobacco products. He also said that due to addiction, many drop out students are ignored by their own families and society.
President ARK Foundation, Ketho Angami spoke on ‘understanding drug use’, its three-prong strategy, drug use and the law, prevention and treatment. Executive Director of Bethesda YWC, WC Humtsoe spoke on the issue of substance use at Bhandari area.
Moang Jamir highlighted the role of stakeholders and challenges/issues related to drug abuse and alcoholism.
