DRDA employees without pay for 7 months

Kohima, February 18: Like employees of other Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) the Government has not paid a salary to employees of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) for the last seven months.
But the Government has not given reason why employees are not been paid and leaving them at their own mercy. So far there has been protest from the unpaid employees but sources said they may resort to agitation soon if their salaries are not released.
Sources said since 2013 there has been irregular release of salaries to employees who are deputed to DRDA.
Most of the CSS employees are not paid in time due to various reasons, including non submission of utilization certificates and reports of misappropriation of funds.
Scheme like MGNREGS was thoroughly misused by the people who were in power and chair in the past, while the employees were not paid in time.
