Dr Neiphrezo graces 3rd day of Sekrenyi Mini Hornbill

Dimapur, February 28: Chairman of Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board (NKVIB), Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu graced the cultural extravaganza of the third day of Sekrenyi Mini Hornbill festival at Khuochiezie (Local Ground) Kohima on February 27.
Dr. Neiphrezo in his exhortation congratulated the organizers for the successful and eventful conduct of the three-day festival. He said that over the years, the Sekrenyi festival has been celebrated with more gaiety and innovative ideas and promoting the rich culture and tradition of Angami tribe.
Dr. Neiphrezo said that the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio is giving its best to preserve and promote the rich culture and traditional custom of Nagas in many ways. He therefore said that one should continue to uphold and preserve the great virtues and values that were a part of our culture in the past and promote our identity in coming days.
He also said that with this original composition of Angami songs competition as the beginning, he hoped to see more of such innovative ideas in the next Sekrenyi Celebrations.
Dr. Neiphrezo also suggested including stand-up comedian in the entertainment segments in coming years so as to encourage them in this area. He hoped that peace and unity be prevail among the community and strive towards the goal in years to come.
The cultural extravaganza was held under two segments – original composition of Angami Songs competition where Thepfuneituo Talie who sung “Bayie” composed by Vituozo Zuyie won the competition and the other segment included contemporary Angami songs performed by reknown artistes who enthralled the crowd.
Atso Chasie, Gei-ü Artist and a Music Educator made a special appearance with his invented musical instrument called Gei-ü. He presented a musical piece with his Gei-ü instrument, which is an improvised instrument, developed from our traditional instruments like -marok kongki, gongkih Lahha and Nrü-bu etc.
The three day Sekrenyi Mini Hornbill festival was culminated with the cultural extravaganza, managed by the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) in collaboration with the Sekrenyi Organising Committee.
