To lay foundation stone of Mon Medical College today
Dimapur, February 25: Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhan accompanied by his wife arrived Dimapur today.
At Dimapur, the Union Minister paid a visit to CIHSR (Referral Hospital) Dimapur and had a brief interaction with the department officers from School of Nursing, Board room.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan was impressed with the infrastructure set up of CIHSR and commented that the achievements within the years shows a brighter future.
Mentioning that India has witnessed huge reform process under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Minister asserted that Modi gives extreme focus from his heart for Northeast in particular.
Lots of activities are happening in almost every field and in every Cabinet meetings, dialogue happens for the development of N.E for economic upliftment and peoples welfare, he maintained.
He further said that the programmes implemented over the years in the Northeast itself justifies the commitment of Modi.
Asserting that Modi government has huge focus on the health sector, the Union Minister noted that Ayushman Health Scheme has become one of the most ambitious program.
Talking about India’s huge potential in terms of manpower and infrastructure, Dr. Harsh opined good strategy as the key to achieving goals.
At CISHR, Dr. Harsh visited the administrative block, Radio Therapy center and the laboratory.
He also visited Health & Wellness Centre at Naga United village.
The Union Minister will be leaving for Mon by chopper on February 26 to lay the foundation stone for a Medical College.
After arriving in Kohima, Dr Vadhan will visit the site of the Kohima Medical College and Kohima War Cemetery on Saturday. He will depart for Imphal by Chopper in the afternoon.
Earlier, Nagaland Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Pangyu Phom, MP Tokheho Sema, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS, Commissioner Police Dimapur Rothihu Tetseo IPS, officials from Medical department and party workers received the Union Minister at Dimapur Airport.
