DPDB meets held at Zbto, Phek, Wokha


Dimapur, April 13: The monthly Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of April was held Thursday in the DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of ADC Hq. Vekhoyi Chakhesang.
In the business hour, the house reviewed the minutes of previous meeting. SDO(C), Ajit Ranjan, IAS appraised the members about the action plan and projects to be taken up in the district on the Protection of Girl Child (Beti Bachao) which is the national peculiar program in the country.
Later a PowerPoint presentations on the status of HIV/AIDS were presented by Supervisor of NSACS Zunheboto unit, Hokishe Chophy.
Phek: The monthly meeting of Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) for the month of April 2018 was held on April 10 in the DPDB conference hall under the chairmanship of DC & vice chairman DPDB Phek, Shanavas C, IAS.
Initiating the meeting, the chairman informed the house of the appointment of Neiba Kronu, MLA 16th A/C (Pfutsero) as chairman DPDB, Phek. He highlighted about the monsoon preparedness and deliberated on that very subjects. In this regards, the chairman invited five departments – Executive Engineer PWD, R&B; Executive Engineer, Power; Executive Engineer, PHED; DSCO and Executive Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control Departments to submit their comments, views and ideas for the monsoon season where certain vulnerable portion and pockets are to be identified, and give special attention. The administrative officers were asked to be extra vigilant and take measures for prevention of calamities.
The chairman suggested on rain water harvesting of water during dry/lean season. Er. T. Imtiakum said that comparatively the source and the quality of water will be compromised, but in the case of supply it might be a little short to meet the needs of the growing population in the headquarters. He added that rain water harvesting is not at their department’s disposal as there is no regular fund provided.
Wokha: The monthly Wokha District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on Wednesday in the DC’s conference hall, Wokha under the chairmanship of chairman DPDB & Advisor, Information Technology, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy. Deputy Chief Minister in-charge for Home & National Highways, Y. Patton, Advisor for Horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan and MLA, Dr. Chumben Murry also attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the chairman requested all members to attend the meeting regularly so that issues pertaining to the district can be addressed timely. He requested the DC and SP to visit places in case of any border/land issues and take stock of the situation and submit report to higher authority for immediate redressal. Very shortly repair and construction of town road will be taken, where he urged concerned department and officer to ensure that quality work is maintained and utilize fund judiciously, he said.
Deputy Chief Minister in-charge for Home & National Highway, Y. Patton stressed on timely on-spot verification in case of any law and order problem. He urged all Officers posted in the district to be regular and work for the progress and prosperity of the district.
Advisor for Horticulture said wishes and aspiration of the people lies with the officers and appealed to all officers to understand their responsibilities and be committed to fulfill the needs of the public.
MLA, Dr. Chumben Murry also highlighted important issues pertaining for the development and beautification of the district and urged his fellow legislators to share responsibilities in brining change and prosperity.
The board approved setting up of public library. With regard to financial assistance from common pool fund 2018-19 towards celebration of Tokhu Emong festival, the chairman requested the organizers to prepare detail activities of the event for approval. (Page News Service)
