Dimapur, September 23: The monthly Mokokchung District planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the Chairmanship of DPDB Chairman & Deputy Speaker NLA, Sharingain Longkumer with the presence of DC Mokokchung, Rajesh Soundararajan at the ADC Planning Hall Mokokchung on September 20.
The Chairman welcomed all the board members to the meeting. The meeting being held under his maiden chairmanship, he said the success of his chairmanship depends a lot on the contribution from the esteemed members for which he sought co-operation from all the members. He also called upon all the members to maintain better communication, co-ordination and courtesy to one another. He expressed the desire to focus in the core sectors like Education, Health Infrastructure and Agri & allied. In the meeting the Board approved the LADP schemes 2019-20 of the 10 (ten) constituency under the district. The Board, after deliberation and discussion, approved and forwarded two societies for Registration: Kongro Naga Society and Japukong Youth Organization. Change of nomenclature of John Douglas School Yimyu to Whetstone High was also approved for further action.
Enlisting Ungma village as Tourist Village was forwarded to District Tourism Officer for further necessary step, construction of a Conference Hall in the Administration block, food safety laboratory in the District HQ was discussed and on which Chief Medical Officer was entrusted to prepare a detail report on the project, ITI Skill Up gradation, Up gradation and Renovation of Cemetery were some of the agendas discussed.
The report on Electoral Verification Programme which is on going in the District was given by ADC Mokokchung, W. Manpai Phom.
The monthly DPDB Kiphire meeting was held at DC’s Conference Hall Kiphire on September 20 under the new Vice Chairman, Sarita Yadav IAS, Deputy Commissioner Kiphire.
In the meeting, she pointed out that most of the members sent their leave through Watsapp and Calls, she stated that all leave have to be applied through application letter for record. She informed the members that the government has enhanced the fund allocation under LADP 2019. Accordingly both the constituencies of the district have submitted their proposals which are as follows:
59 Sitimi_Seyochung A/C, construction of Rostrum at Public Ground Seyochung Town.
60 Kiphire_Pungro A/C, establishment of Eco_Lodge at Pungro. The proposals was approved and was submitted to the Planning & Coordination Department for necessary action. She also informed the Horticulture department to give their power point presentation in the next meeting. Agriculture, Education and Health have been requested to submit all relevant month wise reports of Aspirational matters.
She informed that a meeting on National Commission for Child Rights will be held on 26th September 2019 at DC’s Conference hall Kiphire, and she requesed all the NGOs and tribal bodies to attend the meeting positively. (Page News Service)
