DPDB meets held at Mkg, Peren

Dimapur, February 18: The monthly Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Tuesday at ADC’s Planning Hall, Mokokchung. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Deputy Chairman DPDB, Rajesh Soundarajan, IAS.
The meeting discussed the ensuing general election, and the chairman requested all members to be prepared to take part and perform election duties. He also informed that there will be no exemption on poll duty once enlisted in the poll duty chart.
Renovation of indoor sports building at Imkongmeren Sports Complex was also discussed and the DC assured that it will be looked into on priority.
The house also discussed on town traffic problem, and the Board agreed to approach the Department concerned to ease and solve the problem.
Peren: The Peren District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on February 12 in the DC’s conference hall, New DC Complex under the chairmanship of DC, S Tainiu.
Tening Block identified by RD Department for special attention for development was recommended by the DPDB for onward action plan from the state Government.
In the meeting, Assistant Election Officer, Peren explained about VVPAT and EVM machines and its uses to the members with hands on trial for more clarity about the operation system.
The DC also informed all HoOs to take note of clearing office premises so as to avoid the danger of fire breakout in office areas in particular and the District in general.
