DPDB meets held at Kiphire, Longleng

Dimapur, May 9: The monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting of Kiphire District was held in the DC’s conference hall, Kiphire on May 8 under the chairmanship of DPDB chairman & Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, V. Kashiho Sangtam.
The meeting deliberated upon the presentation of different Departments for upgradation and the basic requirement to bring changes in the Government offices under Kiphire District, on which the Minister assured take up the proposal.
ADC Kiphire, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS highlighted about the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan programme which is a village self-reliance programme meant for the benefit of all villages in the country. He said the programme culminated on May 5.
The ADC also informed the Board that for the Lok Sabha election, there would be no exemption of vehicles to any department during election. He requested all head of offices to be in station regularly.
Longleng: Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner & vice chairman DPDB, John Tsulise Sangtam on May 7 in the DC’s conference hall, Longleng.
The chairman informed about the ensuing Lok Sabha by-election and enforcement of model code of conduct in the State. In this regard, he directed the officers to be aware and alert to ensure that model code of conduct is not violated in the district. He also directed the heads of the departments to furnish their correct incumbency list with full particulars along with their attached vehicles to the DEO office on or before May 10 without fail. He further urged the HoDs to ensure that their vehicles are kept in good conditions for election duty and to avoid the list of officers and officials who are going to retire within a period of six months in the incumbency list for election duty.
On shortage of vehicles and manpower being reported during the last general elections, he directed the officers not to repeat the same mistakes for the forthcoming bye election.
In connection with proposal submitted by the Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) regarding chopper service in the district, the representative of the NST department highlighted in detail about the schedules of chopper service from Dimapur to Longleng. He also informed that chopper service from Dimapur to Longleng is available on every Thursday with a fare of Rs 1000 per passenger and tickets are available at NST counter Longleng and Airport Dimapur respectively. The departure timing from Dimapur is 11:10 am and from Longleng is 12:05 pm.
