DPDB meetings held at Wokha, Peren

Dimapur, May 11: The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on May 9 in the DC’s conference hall, Wokha under the chairmanship of DC Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan.
To develop and promote sports activities under Khelo India Centre in the district, the board discussed and recommended to the State Government for approval for setting up of Khelo India Centre for Archery at Mt.Tiyi College Wokha. The board also discussed the installation of a separate Power Transformer for Wokha District Hospital, the board entrusted the concerned department (Health & Family Welfare) to pursue the matter in the right earnest for early installation for the benefit of the district in the health care system.
Various departments submitted an action plan for the four selected aspirational villages, one each from the four A/C.
Advisor Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan said the implementation of various schemes and projects should not only be on paper presentation but should be implemented in the letter and spirit for the benefit of the district.
Later in the day, Mhathung Yanthan accompanied by the DPDB members visited the ongoing tribal artisan mela at Town Hall, Wokha, and interacted with the officials and artisans who have come to exhibit their products.
The Peren District Planning and Development Board meeting for May was held under the Chairmanship of Dy. CM and Chairman of DPDB Peren, TR Zeliang at DC’s conference hall, Peren on May 6.
The Board held a brief review of the decision taken in the previous meeting, after which the meeting deliberated on monsoon preparedness in the district agenda, wherein EE Urban Development, EE PWD (R&B), EE Power, Dy. CMO and ADS (F&CS) briefed the house about some of the major challenges faced in certain areas by their respective department during the period of monsoon and also the projects undertaken by their department. Regarding this agenda, various feedback and positive inputs were placed and discussed among the members. The Chairman also requested the concerned department to take note of the issues highlighted and further advised them to make extensive preparations in advance.
The proposal for recognition of Poilwa Namzidang Village was explained to the members of the Board by EAC Ngwalwa, Imtinungla Longkumer. The Board agreed to approve and forward the proposal to the Government.
In the meeting, a brief presentation on the topic ‘Nikshay Mitra’ was given by DPO UIP/RCH, Dr. Kiholi Assumi, while a departmental activity was also presented by the Department of Forest.
Another agenda discussed in the meeting was the adoption of schools by departments and road dividers in Jalukie Town.
