
Dimapur, April 16: Mon District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on April 15 in the DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of DC Mon Thavaseelan K IAS.
MLA & chairman DPDB Mon, N. Thongwang Konyak appealed to the house to deliberate on ways to tackle the second wave of Covid-19 while also proposing for the Board to send suggestions to the State level for closure of schools and institutions and banning of mass gathering amid the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in the State.
The Board unanimously passed the following proposals: financial assistance to expand Apiary; creation of medical sub-centre at Longphoah village; shifting of Medical College Mon to Chah-yo area Mon village; creation of additional anganwadi centre at Chingkao Nyaho village under Chen circle. The house agreed to pass the proposal brought out by ADC Aboi, Chumlamo Humtsoe NCS, after completion of Social Welfare Departmental procedures.
It also passed creation of Eklvya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Angjangyong and Tobu. The DC also highlighted that the upcoming EMRS Longwa would be sanctioned by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
DIO Mon, Shasinle Tep updated the house on Covid vaccination in the District which stands at 8,763 administered with the first dose and 2,303 administered with the second dose. He stated that there are 18 vaccination centres in the District which would increase to 36 centres from April 16 onwards. She also highlighted that there will be Covid vaccination sessions conducted at workplaces in both public and private offices and urged the members to cooperate with the Department for its success.
Mokokchung: Mokokchung DPDB meeting was held on April 15 under the chairmanship of NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer. Minister for Rural Development Metsubu Jamir and Minister for Mechanical & Housing Tongpang Ozukum also attended the meeting.
The House decided to re-examine the proposal for a Public Park in Mokokchung. Upgradation of Ongpangkong EAC circle to the status of SDO (C) and creation of EAC Longsa post was approved. The proposal of upgradation of Alichen to Urban Station was approved by the house and forwarded to the Government.
The housed also approved the proposal by Mokokchung District Football Association to host the Dr. T. Ao Inter District Football Tournament, 2022 at Mokokchung. Construction of Multi-purpose Indoor Sports Hall Building at Mopungchuket village and black topping of Chubayimkum road was also approved.
After thorough deliberation, registration of Serendipity Society, Dilong Ward Mokokchung was approved and forwarded for registration.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Chubala Aier, gave a report regarding COVID-19 vaccination in the district from January 16 to April 14.
Zunheboto: In Zunheboto, the meeting was held on April 15 at DC’s conference hall, chaired by DC Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo.
The house reviewed the selection of a location for setting up of Public Park at Zunheboto and the search committee suggested a suitable location at Lizu Naghuto. The House agreed to take up the issue with the higher authority.
Dr. M Nungshisangla Jamir provided information about the Covid-19 vaccination status where she said that till date, 736 healthcare workers and 1798 frontline workers have been vaccinated and 2,148 persons between 45 and 59 years have been vaccinated and 1,185 persons above the age of 60 years have been vaccinated.
She added that Tikka Utsav (Covid vaccination Mela) was organised from April 11 to 14 at Zunheboto HQ, Pughoboto CHC, Suruhuto PHC, Akuluto PHC, Satakha CHC and Atoizu PHC at church campuses and Covid vaccination centres. She also added that though State Government has not issued any direction to kick off Covid immunization activities at sub centre/ village level, at the request of Village Council of Phuye old, Phuye new, Tichipami and Sapotomi the department conducted the activities during the Mela in these villages.
SP Zunheboto, T Uniel Kichu informed that any person roaming around without mask will be penalized a sum of Rs 100 and a sum of Rs 500 for shops, hotels etc. found without hand sanitizer.
The agenda discussed include creation of town council at Akuluto town, where the House concluded that it was an essential need and sent the proposal to the Government.
PowerPoint presentation was presented by DPO Vikugha Sema, Department of Land Resource. He said that till date 98 villages have been covered under micro village watershed and under activities of micro enterprise 28 carpentry materials, three blacksmith materials, one salon material, one sewing machine, one weaving material and brass cutter materials were provided to the beneficiaries.
