DPDB meetings held at Kohima, Mon

Dimapur, September 16: The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports and Chairman DPDB Kohima, Er. Zale Neikha at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima on September 15. Advisor for Rural Development, Dr. Nicky Kire; Advisor for V&AH, R. Khing and MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro also attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB began the meeting with a review of the last DPDB meeting minutes followed by the new DPDB members’ introduction.
On the agenda of creation of EAC Hq at Kandi area under Tseminyu Sub-division, ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi gave a brief report on the proposal where he stated that the area consists of six villages, 1500 household with 10,000 populations. In this regard Advisor, R. Khing highlighted on the necessity for creation of EAC Hq. in the area as the area’s desire for development has not been achieved for many years. He added that the area is boundary with Sema and Lotha tribes and has a compact six villages, which requires urgent creation of EAC Hq. The Board after deliberation unanimously decided to forward it to the Government for further necessary action.
On the agenda of separate RD Block at Kezocha, PD DRDA, Alemla J. Chishi highlighted a brief profile of Kezocha Block where the Board decided to assign EAC Kezocha to verify on the proposal and submit the report, after which the Board will forward it to the Government.
The Board deliberated on the upgradation of SDO (C) Office to that of ADC Hq. at Jakhama, where Er. Zale highlighted on the matter to the board. In this regard, the DC has informed that the same proposal was taken up in 2014 which was recommended by the then DC and further decided to recommend it to the government basing on the previous proposal of 2014 and the DPDB meeting.
Besides the agenda, DC has put on record that all the line departments have been working tirelessly including the DDMA members to address the unprecedented disaster which has struck the district recently. He thanked all the concerned departments, especially PWD, R&B, NH for continuously been on the job involving in various restore activities.
He impressed upon all the HoOs and line departments to be prepared, cautious and be in full readiness to address to any kind of disaster which may occur again. He requested the departments to fill the format in regard to District Disaster Management Plan and sent it back by mail and also the IDRN format where the list of machineries and equipments have to be updated continuously.
The Adoption Committees of various Village/Ward presented brief report on the progress of their activities where the Chairman DPDB expressed his appreciation on their activities and hope to hear more encouraging report in the next DPDB meeting. He also requested them to extend resources from their respective departments and help their adopted villages and wards. Advisor, Dr. Nicky also shared his observation on the Adoption Committee and suggested to take up activities which are necessary for that particular adopted villages or wards and added to work together for the benefit of the area.

Monthly Mon District Planning Board meeting was held on September 15 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon chaired by ADC Mon, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS.
During the meeting, the house approved and recommended for registration of Society for Grace Foundation at Wagiem Ward, Mon town; Registration of Society for Konyak Theological Association (KTA), Mon; Upgradation of Shalom School, Longwa; Upgradation of David School, Tizit; Change of School name from Aboi Public School to Longshang Memorial High School, Aboi.
The house also discussed in regard to sanitation in Mon town and decided to start monthly contribution to Mon Town Council from all departments to be used for Sanitation purpose.
The house also welcomed new members of DPDB, Mon, Ihoilung Chuilo NCS, EAC (P); Dr. M.L. Ngullie, Principal, Wangkhao College Mon; Samuel Kapu, DCPO Mon and Eyongal Angami, DHO.
Y. Kungangse, Assistant Urban Development Officer, Mon presented the departmental activities of Urban Department during the current year.
