DPDB meeting held at Wokha

Dimapur, July 13: The monthly Wokha District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on July 10 in the DC’s conference hall, Wokha under the chairmanship of vice chairman & Deputy Commissioner, Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS. New DPDB chairman Wokha, Mhathung Yanthan Advisor Horticulture also attended the meeting.
Addressing the planning board meeting, the new chairman said that planning board is a very important platform which discusses and address the development activities of the district and he takes the new assignment as a challenge. He urged the members for full co-operation to make a cohesive team to discharge given responsibilities to meet the aspiration of the people of the district.
The new chairman suggested a periodical visit to all the offices in the district, spot visit to the project sites undertaken by various department.
As the district is observing 2019 as the year of cleanliness with the motto “Cleanliness from within” and “Clean Wokha, beautiful Wokha,” DPDB has set aside a cash prize for the cleanest colony. Altogether there are 27 colonies in Wokha town where 17 colonies had qualified for the award.
Likya colony received the first prize and the second prize was received jointly by Suren & New colony, and the third prize was bagged by Tsumang “B” & NST colony as joint winner. The cash award was funded under LADP Common Pool Fund 2019-20. The prizes were handed over by the Advisor to the colony chairman. The first prize was Rs 80,000, 2nd – Rs 60,000 and 3rd – Rs 50,000.
Department of Fishery and Water Resources presented their activities during the meeting. Distribution of work for the forthcoming Independence Day celebration was also done in the meeting.
While discussing the recent ban on eight ton head-load passing though Doyang bridge by the District administration, the board entrusted R&B department to initiate the proposal for construction of new bridge at the earliest.
Vice chairman & DC, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS informed all the department in the district to stay alert for any remedial measure as NSDM has informed that Nagaland State will witness heavy rain fall in the coming week.
Tseminyu: Tseminyu SDPDB held its monthly meeting in the ADC conference hall on July 10.
ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi Kichu expressed gratitude to various organizations and departments, particularly to VDBs and Village Council Chairman Association of Tseminyu Sub-Division for their contributions and support which enabled the Tseminyu administration headed by ADC to successfully hold the inauguration programme for the newly constructed office building of ADC office at Tseminyu town on June 21.
The meeting discussed the forthcoming Independence Day celebration at Tseminyu and various works were distributed to respective departments.
Dr. Gwathonlo Tsela, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Tseminyu gave a brief presentation on the activities of the department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services under the establishment of Deputy Chief Veterinary Office, Tseminyu.
