
Dimapur, April 18: The Acoustic Club, Wokha will be organising a 2-day “musical, food and fun fest”, in collaboration with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), with Rhyuka Yenjo as venue partner, at Doyang Tourist Resort area on April 23 and 24.
Fourteen local bands from Wokha and one guest band will be taking part in the event, according to a DIPR report.
According to Advisor for TaFMA, Theja Meru, Doyang is a jewel in the crown of Nagaland and the musical event will be a small beginning to tell the world of the treasuries that Nagaland has. He added that music festival and musicians contribute substantially to a local economy, arts and music are the best brand ambassadors and soft power.
Meru stated that TaFMA sees huge potential in economic activity and opportunities for Naga musicians and all other business that go with festivals and expressed hope that it will blossom into a big festival in the years to come, and like other music festivals contribute to local economy and growth of arts industry in a big way.
Event Manger, Nzanbemo Patton expressed gratitude to the TaFMA team for the support extended towards the organizers and opined that many young musicians will be benefited through such kind of platform. He also thanked the Chief Minister for giving such platform to the youngsters in the field of music. Patton also said that the event will be held following all laid down SOP. (Page News Service)
