Dimapur, November 18: The Directorate of Technical Education has notified to all commercial training private institute within Nagaland/Centre running computer/hardware courses and IT related courses not to award Diploma certificate without the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, and with training duration less than 3 years. It informed that such institutes shall not be granted further extension to run the institute and the students obtaining certificates from such institute shall be treated as null & void.
In a notification, the DoTE said it has been issuing orders to such institutes to adhere to the norms and guidelines set by the Department, but there are many institutes still running the courses by awarding “Diploma” in the certificates, which cannot be used until and unless it is recognized by AICTE (norms & guidelines).
Training duration less than 3 years can use the word “Certificate Course” and not as Diploma, it said. (Page News Service)
