Dimapur, December 20: The Department of Soil and Water Conservation organized a programme for release of 50 years jubilee souvenir in commemoration of the completion of 50 years of its existence at the Directorate’s conference hall.
Welcoming the gathering, Director of Soil & Water Conservation, Viliehu Nguzhu congratulated the officers and staff – both past and present for their service rendered to the State and also towards the growth of the Department. He mentioned that the primary strength of the Department was skilled and professionally competent manpower. He added that he was confident for the Department to take up any challenge with highest standard of professional efficiency and decorum.
The jubilee souvenir was released by the Minister of Soil & Water Conservation, Geology and Mining, NSAMB & vice chairman – SLUB, V Kashiho Sangtam.
In his speech he mentioned that 50 years is a good span of time to take stock of our past performances and to work out better strategies for future challenges. He encouraged the Department to work with dedication, sincerity and to excel.
Presentation on revamping of State Land Use Board was delivered by K.Khekiho Shohe, Joint Director. The programme was chaired by Vikeyie Kenya, Commissioner & Secretary.
