DoSE notify schools on Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav

Dimapur, March 9: The Directorate of School Education has notified that the celebration of 75th years of India’s Independence “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” will commence 75 weeks prior to the Independence Day 2022 and will extend up to Independence Day 2023. The launch of the celebration will be a 25 days event starting on 12-03-2021 (anniversary of the launch of Dandi March) and will conclude on 5th April 2021 (conclusion of Dandi March).


Prime Minister of India will launch the opening ceremony of the 25 days event on the March 12 from Gujarat.
Coinciding with the inauguration, all schools functioning within the State of Nagaland have been advised to organize the following events on March 12: One-hour conference/ seminar /symposium/ talk/ webinar/ presentation by students on the topic ‘Events leading to India’s independence from British rule and Role of various freedom fighters in it’; essay competition or creative writing competition on the topic ‘Analysis of India’s struggle for independence – different schools of freedom movement from 1857 to 1947’.
The DoSE informed that the best performing students from each category at school level will be invited to take part in District/State level competitions to be held in the fourth week of March 2021. District / State level participants will be given certificates of appreciation and best entries will be displayed on the State/School Board websites.
At the National level, NCERT will be organizing creative writing on creative themes related to ‘Movement of Independence of India’ and the vision for India in collaboration with MyGov on March 12. The link for this will be made available https://ncert.nic.in/ and MyGov: A Platform for Citizen Engagement towards Good Governance in India. All students who submit essay on the given link will get an online certificate of participation, jointly signed by the Director, NCERT and CEO, MyGov.
