
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 1: In the last seven financial years, the Union Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and the North Eastern Council (NEC) have together sanctioned 187 projects for a combined cost of Rs 1,965.69 crore to Nagaland.
However, out of the 187 sanctioned projects, Nagaland has till date completed only 45 for a cost of Rs 241.4 crore.
This information was shared by DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy while providing a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
From 2014-15 to 2021-22, DoNER and NEC have sanctioned a total of 1,350 projects in the entire NE region. The total cost for these projects stands at Rs 15,867.01 crore.
The Minister said that 55 non-exempted Central Ministries/Departments are mandated to spend at least 10% of their Gross Budgetary Support (GBS) for Central Sector and Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the North Eastern Region to accelerate the pace of development.
