Kohima, November 8: Don Bosco College, Kohima celebrated its 3rd Graduation Day on November 7 via Google Meet online platform.
Addressing the gathering, special invitee Chairman of Kohima Village Council, Dr. Neiphi Kire expressed his happiness that Nagaland is now a state which has several colleges providing quality education. Congratulating the Bosconian graduates of 2020, he urged them to work hard and not to pursue for any further higher degrees or examinations without self interest.
Highlighting on the rising unemployment and less governmental job opportunities, he encouraged the graduating students’ to look beyond government jobs and work towards avenues on vocation and entrepreneurship.
Earlier, Principal, DBCK Fr. Dr. P. Suresh introduced the special invitee and welcomed the gathering while. Kezienuo Asst. Professor, DBCK highlighted the graduation report. The online programme was also marked by short congratulatory speeches by all five department head’s and a special number by Bosco Music Club.
Representing the graduates, Vilaneinuo Agnes Tsiekha, former General Secretary, Students’ Forum of the college gave a valedictory speech, while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Adenuo S. Luikham, Asst. Professor, DBCK.
The programme started with a prayer by Principal, DBHSS, Fr. T.P. James and was chaired by Zayieviu Kielienyu, BA 5th Semester DBCK.This year, altogether 166 students from 5 departments are marking as the third batch of graduates from Don Bosco College, Kohima.
Before the formal celebration, students were awarded with certificates and college memento on 28th October 2020 at the college premises. (Page News Service)
