The Indian Medical Association has rightly called for an indefinite cease work if the centre fails to enact a law to check violence against medical practitioners in the wake of the recent brutal assault of Assam tea garden doctor Deben Dutta in Assam. The mob assaulted an aged doctor who after his retirement was voluntarily serving humanity without any remuneration as per reports. It’s a tragic happening and the government of the day should enact stricter laws to deal with lynching and physical assaults be it on doctors or any individuals. The rule of law should prevail.
Doctors are not spared
