DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 11: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has extended “unflinching support” to the demand of the Joint Committee for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) to legislate the Banuo’s Commission report on Register of indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) into an Act during the Nagaland Legislative Assembly session, scheduled to begin on February 12.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the union further demanded the State Government to regulate RIIN with December 1, 1963 as the cut off year, inclusive of Dimapur district.
“The DNSU appeals to the State Government to stop refusing and confusing its people and to put more effort as elective representatives. Therefore, the RIIN must be implemented without any delay. Further, on failure on the part of the government to comply with the genuine plea of the citizens, the union is ever ready to extend its full support with any democratic protest of the JCPI,” it added.
