Dimapur, February 29: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) along with its constituent units had an emergency presidential meeting on February 29 to discuss the further course of action as per the 7-days ultimatum served to the Excise Department on February 21 with regard to closure of all liquor dens/outlets and thorough check on availability of liquor in Dimapur.
Informing this, a DNSU press release extended appreciation to the prompt action led by Zhaleo Rio, Advisor, Excise. It also reaffirmed to remain vigil, act and make sure that Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989 is effectively enforced as long as the Act exist.
The DNSU along with its units also extended fullest cooperation to the concerned department and enforcing authorities and also warned of stern action against erring Government officials if found indulging in malpractices.
Further, DNSU along with its units appreciated Naga Tribal Union Chumukedima Town (NTUCT), Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD), Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO), Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), Dimapur Ao Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship (DABPF) and well wishers for their support towards the common cause and urged the general public to come up with the same spirit for a better society.
