DNSU irked at poor ATM services in Dimapur

Nagaland News

Dimapur, January 12: Irked by the poor ATM services in the city, the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has appealed to banks in Dimapur to ensure proper ATM services.

The students’ body appeal comes following complaints from several sections of the society over poor ATM services and after conducting an “overall survey” of ATM booths in and around Dimapur, said the DNSU in a press release.
The union expressed surprise that majority of ATM booths in Dimapur were either out of service or out of cash, whereas ATM with availability of cash has queue of more than 20-30 person at a time.
Stating that it is totally dismayed over the poor services provided to consumers, the release said students are at the receiving end since academic admissions are going on, resulting in unnecessary physical and mental harassment to students’ to access ATM service.
The union noted that ATM service charges are levied on customers, and therefore it is the bounded duty of the banks to provide quality service to its customers.
Also keeping in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, DNSU said random queues outside the functional ATM’s without maintaining social distancing protocol is a total breach of SOP laid down by the Government. It also observed that most ATMs do not meet the SOP requirements of the concerned banks.
Taking into account all the prevailing inconveniences, the union urged the banks to provide proper ATM services. (Page News Service)
