DNSU expresses gratitude

Dimapur, May 15: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union has expressed its gratitude to all the Constituent Tribal Units, different student federations, churches, individuals and various other organizations for extending their fullest support and contribution towards the mission of inter-Districts movement for stranded students and citizens in Dimapur. The Union also expressed its appreciation and acknowledged the All Nagaland Private Bus association for its active service with special concession, as well as Churches and educational institutions who provided free buses to the stranded people.
Further, the Union stated that ever since the lockdown started, it has been more than 34 days that the Union has been providing relief to students stranded in hostels and rented houses. During the daily drive and till now, the Union has reached around 3000 students in Dimapur by providing essential groceries and food items with the help of the District Administration.
The daily hardships and untold miseries that these students have shared have been eye-opening. Some who told us that they only depended on a single meal a day was so heartrending.
The Union said it would continue to serve and assured those students stranded and facing problems will be looked after regarding ration and relief.
The DNSU has also been assisting the district administration and police in manning the wholesale market at Supermarket commencing at 4:00 am.
It also thanked Ato Kilonser Kitovi N Zhimomi and family, Minister for Higher and Technical Education and tribal affairs Temjen Imma Along, Dr Roland Lotha, Commissioner of Police, Rothihu Tetseo, Muslim Council Dimapur and all the well wishers who have helped us in setting up the relief.
It further urged the people to stay positive and support the government in the fight against the pandemic.
