DNSU supports NOA’s flagging on “illegal optical shops”

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, APRIL 25: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) had demanded that all “illegal optical shops run by unprofessional” be closed down and trade license cancelled in total.
Extending support to the issue raised by Nagaland Optometric Association over “illegal optical shops run by unprofessional”, the Union, in a press release, expressed shock that for the past many years the general public has been availing such “unprofessionals eye care services”.
The DNSU informed that subsequent to complaint received against some optical clinic for running clinic without proper certificates of practice in Dimapur, when it questioned some defaulters, “a self styled union so called ‘Optical Association of Dimapur’ interfered as a care taker of the optical clinics, and tried to defend the defaulters”.
“Upon enquiry about the membership of the association, no executive members of Optical Association of Dimapur have a profession in the field of optics. As such, the Union firmly reminds that such unprofessionals and self-style association will never be allowed to function in its jurisdiction”, the release said.
Acknowledging the Nagaland Optometric Association for bringing the issue in public domain and sensitising the innocent general public, the DNSU urged the concerned authorities to verify and authenticate proper documents before giving registration to any associations.
