Dimapur, September 2: The panel of judges for the Dimapur Municipal Council’s “Cleanest Colony Competition 2020” have started touring various colonies under the jurisdiction of DMC from the month of August onwards to select the winner for the Third Quarter (July-September) competition.
The judging is based on criteria’s like Garbage management, Drainage Management, Foliage Clearance, Sanitation and Tobacco Control.
There will be a winner for both the categories of big and small colonies separately. The winner for the quarterly competition will get a cash prize of Rs 10,000 while the winner for the overall year will get a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 . There would also be a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 for first and second runners up respectively in the Annual category.
The points for the Annual Competition would be calculated on the basis of the cumulative points accumulated over the year.
It may also be mentioned here that the competition for the First Quarter (January-March) and Second Quarter (April- June) this year could not be conducted owing to the pandemic and lockdown measures.
Keeping the city clean is a collective responsibility and so all colony members are encouraged to keep their respective colonies clean not only for the prize but for a better, cleaner Dimapur.
The recently formed Colony Sanitation Committees are also expected to take an active role in this initiative.
