
Dimapur, May 4: Citing the meeting held between DMC Veterinary Public Health Cell and representatives of GB Union (Sardar) and Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF) on May 2, the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has reminded all colonies to ban slaughter/processing of meat animals meant for human consumption and sale of meat in open air(roadside) or unhygienic environment.
“The butchers are given 15 days’ time from the date of issue of this order to relocate their shops to provide hygienic environment, free from dust and flies and clear running water in their shops. A joint drive will be conducted during which defaulters shall be penalized as per the provision of the Act without further notice”, stated a DMC press release on Wednesday.
