Dimapur, July 16: Traders in Dimapur can now pay their Trade Licence fees online and avoid the hassles of being standing in queue for hours, as the Dimapur Municipal Council today launched its Online Trade Licence Payment Gateway.
The online portal will also help new traders to apply for their new trade license online while existing traders can login to pay their trade license fees.
Inaugurating the portal, Advisor, Department of Power, Tovihoto Ayemi said that over the years, the civic body in Dimapur has shouldered huge responsibilities and brought many policies for the betterment of Dimapur town and the business community and coming thus far, the Dimapur Municipal Council has now entered the digital world with the initiative of online payment system.
He said the initiative of online payment started few years back and today the DMC has launched the Online Trade Licence Payment Gateway.
Tovihoto, who is also the former chairman of DMC, said that with the launch of this online payment system, traders would not have stand in queue to pay their trade license fees physically. This online payment will ease the hardships faced by the business community as well as save their time.
Reacting to a survey, where Nagaland has been ranked 3rd dirtiest state in the country, he said the blame should not be put on the DMC alone as it has been working and doing its part. He said people should not be discouraged by such survey reports but take it as a challenge to bring change in Dimapur.
Stating that such surveys can be an eye opener for everybody, he urged the people to start it from the locality. Community participation is must to keep the city clean, he added.
He also appealed to the leaders of various organizations to give support and cooperate with the DMC to seek for healthy environment and sanitation.
As a former chairman of DMC, Tovihoto also said that it is always a happy moment to be part of DMC and appreciated the work and contribution carried out by the members of the organization.
The website for online payment has been developed by Symbios.
It may be mentioned that the payment gateway used for the application for paying trade license fee is eazypay, provided by ICICI Bank and all kinds of Debit/Credit cards can be used.
Later, Ayemi also inaugurated DMC dumping-free zone project outside Ram Krishna Mission at Duncan Basti here. The dumping site at the place was converted into a dumping-free zone by a group called Team Green formed by eight women professionals.
A member of the group said the Team Green has also planted a number of tree saplings along the roads in Dimapur with the aim to make the town clean and green.
