DLSAs organize legal awareness programme

Dimapur, January 30: Dimapur DLSA organised legal awareness programme with students, faculties and non teaching staffs of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on January 30.
Soneli Seb, Retainer lawyer, DDLSA spoke on the “Importance of will” and highlighted that a will is one of the most solemn documents known to law and a legal declaration of the intention of a person. She also stressed on the benefits of making a will.
Khrieketounuo Metha, panel lawyer spoke on “Consumer Protection Act”. Kekhriele-u Mezhu, panel lawyer spoke on “The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act”.
Ajongba Imchen, CJM Dimapur and secretary DDLSA summed up the programme by challenging the gathering to be good citizens of the country.
The programme was attended by 240 people.
Kohima: The Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) organised legal awareness programme at Rengma Fellowship, Bayavu Hill Kohima on January 30.
Mhechiete U Kenye, panel lawyer KDLSA spoke on ‘Consumer Protection Act, 1986’ and Asenla Longkumer, panel lawyer KDLSA spoke on ‘The Importance of Will’. Vikehiepie Sirie, panel lawyer KDLSA spoke on ‘Motor Vehicle Act.
More than 41 persons benefited from the programme.
Meanwhile on invitation by the 3rd Assam Riffles (IGAR North Kohima), the KDLSA partook in the ex-serviceman rally rendering services to ex-servicemen, widows, kit and kin of war deceased in the nature of giving legal counselling, advice, distributing of legal literatures.
Eight panel lawyers including retainer lawyer of KDLSA rendered their service in the rally. More than 150 persons benefited from the rally.
Wokha: PLVs from Wokha DLSA Daisy Tungoe , Zuchobemo and PA Shanchobeni P lotha rendered services to students by opening a legal literacy stall during the recently held Lotha Students Union general conference on January 27 & 28 at Merapani (Border area).
Legal pamphlets were also provided to 12 ranges /circle students union covering 88 students union villages from upper, middle and lower ranges for their union library.
Meanhwhile, the Wokha DLSA also conducted awareness on Juvenile Justice (Care and protection of Children) Act and Protection of children from Sexual offenses Act at Little Angel’s School Wokha on January 17 and Grace School Wokha on January 28.
Longleng: Longleng DLSA conducted awareness programme on the topic ‘POCSO Act’ on January 28 at Tribalhood Hostel Nyengching Longleng. Imlichuba PLV chaired the programme, and resource person P Monyei Phom, panel lawyer spoke on the topic ‘Right to Legal Aid’ and ‘POCSO Act 2019’.
