DLSAs observe Labour Day in Wokha, Dimapur


Dimapur, May 5: Wokha District Legal Service Authority (WDLSA) in collaboration with Assistant Labour Commissioner office Wokha reached out the Border areas of Ralan covering 13 villages on International Labours Day by organising a Mini Camp for the unorganised Sector. Panel Lawyer Meribemo Lotha chaired the Programme,SDO(Civil) Ralan delivered short speech, theme Speaker Renjamo Ngullie Asst Labour Commissioner Wokha enlightened the participants on the building & other construction workers welfare scheme and other Scheme for unorganised Sector.
Panel Lawyer Shanchobeni P Lotha highlighted on the activities of Legal services aid.
Real Time Registration of beneficiaries was aided by Para Legal Volunteer Alex Tsopoe and PLV Daisy Tungoe.
60 village functionary members attended the programme, 25 genuine workers were identified and registered under Nagaland building and Construction Workers Scheme.
As part of the International Labour Day, Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) on May 1 divided Panel Lawyers into groups to give on spot legal awareness and sensitize labourers on their rights. Various places in Dimapur were visited and legal awareness and their rights were explained amongst the construction workers, daily wage earners, labourers, auto drivers, rickshaw pullers.
