DLC meet on Poshan Abhiyaan held at Longleng

Dimapur, November 10: The District Level Committee for Poshan Abhiyaan was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam on November 8 in the DC’s conference hall.
Addressing at the first meeting, the DC & Chairman DLC spoke on the convergence activities of the different departments under Poshan Abhiyaan. Briefing on the different levels of committee which consisted of national, state, district, block and village level committee on Poshan Abhiyaan, the DC emphasized on the roles and responsibility of the various levels and the convergence departments to streamline their activities for effective implementation of the Poshan Abhiyaan programme at the National level. He said its aim is to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children. The deputy commissioner clarified to the queries raised by the members under the convergence activities of the respective department for a common goal.
After a detailed discussion the members felt it necessary to endorse the block level committee to go ahead with their activities. Accordingly it was decided to endorse the block level committee to carry out their activities at the earliest to complete it with the given timeframe.
Poshan Abhiyaan is a multi-ministerial convergence mission with the vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition free India by 2022.
Medziphema: The first meeting of all members of the Block Convergence Plan for Committee (BCPC) for Poshan Abhiyan Mission under Medziphema block was held in the Dobashi hall at Medziphema on November 9.
The members consists of chairman, EAC Medziphema, Sentilong Ozukum, CDPO, BDO, SDO (PHED) SMO CHC, SDEO, Supervisors under CDPO, and welfare inspectors Medziphema.
The meeting discussed on the convergence plan and what action plan will be brought out for the successful implementation to strengthen the programme at Medziphema subdivision. It also discussed the objectives and features of Poshan Abhiyan Mission how it will benefit right up to the grass root level. (Page News Service)
