
Dimapur, December 10: District Health Society (DHS) Zunheboto organized a 1-day District level workshop on Surakshit Matritva Aawasan-SUMAN in the conference hall, District Hospital on December 9.
Dr M Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO (RCH/UIP) presented a powerpoint on SUMAN, where she spoke on the vision, goal, beneficiaries, objectives, attributes of a SUMAN complaint facility, beneficiaries of the scheme, broad pillars of the initiative, SUMAN service guarantee packages, entitlements under the scheme, notification of facilities under SUMAN, quality assurance under SUMAN, grievance redressal, maternal death reporting under SUMAN, community engagement under SUMAN.
Dr Lanuchuba, Medical Superintendent, DH Zunheboto gave power point presentation on District Hospital maternal and new-born health indicators based on HMIS data for the last 3 years (ANC registration, 4 ANC, 1st Trimester registration, 180IFA in ANC, Institutional deliveries, LSCS rate, ANC’s in preterm labor, SNSU/NBSU status-admissions, death rate, facility and community follow up, maternal and child death review status – number of deaths and number of reviews, JSY/JSSK status and still birth rate status.
Tokuli Wotsa, DPM (QA) gave a presentation on facility assessment checklist. She shared on prevention of hospital associated infections, hand hygiene, use of personal protection, environment control of patient care area to ensure infection prevention, segregation, collection, treatment and disposal of biomedical and hazardous waste. She also updated of Laqshya programme, certification status, bottlenecks pertaining to specific check points, action points, Laqshya monthly indicators.
In the workshop, short speeches was delivered by Dr K Akaho Sema, Chief Medical Officer, member secretary and convener, Zunheboto.
The workshop was attended by members of District level SUMAN committee.
