Dimapur, April 6: Fostering Climate Resilient Upland Farming System in Northeast-Nagaland (FOCUS Nagaland), an externally-aided project funded by IFAD, distributed Kharif seeds to the project villages under Longleng district on March 29 at the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Office, Longleng.
DAO & DPM of FOCUS-IFAD, S Yongchang Phom, appreciated the farmers for the good outcome and also encouraged them to work sincerely and implement the activities with full seriousness to ensure that they get full benefit from the project.
He also stated that despite the pandemic, FOCUS was able to provide seeds during the kharif season in April 2020, aided in distributing the products to nearby villages and markets during the nationwide lockdown.
Packages of practice on the kharif seeds were given to the lead farmers, who received the allotted quantity on behalf of the villages and were also informed to ensure that the allotted quantity should reach out to all the interested beneficiaries from the FIGs. (Page News Service)
