Dinanath’s arrest in Assam will strengthen case against him: ACAUT

Dimapur, October 27: ACAUT Nagaland today said that the arrest of fuel adulteration kingpin, Dinanath Shah by Assam Police would strengthen the case against him.
Dinanath was arrested on October 1 and a case has been registered against him at Rangia Police station in Kamrup district.
ACAUT said that Dinanath had shifted his base of operation to Khatkhati in Karbi Anglong after ACAUT Nagaland along with the officials of Dimapur district administration busted and exposed the network of illegal fuel adulteration units across Dimapur and Chumukedima in 2016 and the case of which is still pending in the court.
It said the hardened criminal conveniently shifted his fuel adulteration unit to Khatkhati just a few kilometer away from Dimapur as he was still getting the Kerosene meant for PDS to run the illegal business from Dimapur.
The ACAUT Nagaland urged the Nagaland police to co-ordinate with its counterpart in Assam and get to the root of the matter and ensure that this interstate notorious criminal along with all corrupted officials and the syndicate mafias who are part of the illegal racket be brought to justice.
“There have been aspersions cast by impatient people and those with more sinister intent to malign ACAUT have alleged ACAUT to have compromised on the issue, therefore ACAUT Nagaland would like to state here to all and sundry that ACAUT believes in the “Rule of Law” and ACAUT members have been patiently co-operating and for the past 2 years, appearing for summons and court hearings on numerous times and has been giving necessary information both to the investigating agencies and news reporters from outside the state,” a press release issued by Media Cell, ACAUT stated.
It hoped that inspite of some corrupted people in the system, given this new turn of events, the judiciary would give a fair and final judgement at the earliest .
The ACAUT Nagaland congratulated the Assam police for the commendable job. (Page News Service)
