Dimapur, November 28: SDO Dimapur Sadar, Zubenthung Ngullie distributed relief materials i.e., tarpaulins, blankets, utensils, mosquito nets, t-shirts, masks, soaps etc to the underprivileged people of Railway colony, Civil Hospital colony, Netaji Colony, Urban Complex colony & adjoining areas at Shri Shri Ram Thakur Temple, behind Dimapur Railway station on Friday in the presence of the Managing Committee Members & Patrons of Dimapur Red Cross.
Speaking on the occasion, Ngullie appreciated the dedicated services of Dimapur Red Cross & its volunteers in particular for their yeoman’s service in containing corona pandemic in Dimapur District.
Earlier, Managing Committee members took turns to apprise all about maintaining social distancing, ration packaging & distributions, support to the administration, assistance to the returnees, managing quarantine centers, ambulance etc. during COVID-19 pandemic with its 500 volunteers force of all tribes & communities of Dimapur, besides creating awareness about the expected second wave of COVID-19. They also expressed their gratitude to the District Administration, Commissioner of Police, Chief Medical Officers for their 24×7 service to assist the public in general during the pandemic.
It may be noted that IRCS Headquarters have sponsored these relief items, alongwith Nestle India on a special request of IRCS Nagaland, for which we express our gratitude to them. Later, masks were also distributed to all the 500 Red Cross Volunteers through respective Team Leaders at NIIT Dimapur Center. All the other districts of Nagaland Red Cross have done similar distributions at the same day & same time across the state too.
MC Members, Chandu Agarwal (Chairman), Ajay Sethi (Vice-chairman), K K Paul (Honorary Secretary), Ahidur Rehman & Kuldeep Jain were present on the occasion, besides patron, Sanjay Jain & other Red Cross Volunteers.
The Red Cross expressed gratitude to the Management Committee of Shri Shri Ram Thakur Sevashram for allowing the distribution function to be held in their campus.
