
Dimapur, April 24: Dimapur Government College will remain closed from Monday after 4 girl hostellers tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.
DGC principal informed informed students not to come to college from Monday (April 26) onwards, but to wait for online classes to commence.
As reported in Nagaland Page, 5 girl-hostellers were sent to the Civil Hospital Dimapur for COVID-19 test after showing suspected Covid symptoms, while the entire girl-hostellers were confined to the hostel as precautionary measure.
Four of the 5 girls tested positive, and were taken to Covid hospital in Chumukedima and they are doing fine now, said the DGC principal.
Five other hostellers who had primary contact with the positive patients have been isolated and will undergo Covid testing on Monday, he informed.
“Depending on the result of the tests, the CMO has stated that she will decide whether to seal the entire college or not. The College is following the instruction of the CMO office and as of now only the Girls hostel has been sealed.”
The principal informed that in view of the unavoidable circumstances; the college is gearing up to resume online classes after being granted permission by the Government.
Asking teachers and staffs to remain in station, the principal informed students not to come to college form Monday onwards but to wait for online classes to commence. (Page News Service)
