Dimapur, July 22: The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board have agreed to purchase Truck Mounted Sweeping and Cleaner Machine with the seed money allocated for Dimapur district. The idea for buying the high tech sweeping machine was mooted by chairman DPDB Dimapur, MLA Moatoshi Longkumer basically to keep Dimapur city clean.
Addressing the DPDB meeting on Friday, Moatoshi informed that the cost of machine comes to Rs 31 lakhs whereas the common pool fund for Dimapur is Rs 23 lakhs. In this regard, he said that he will approach the concerned higher authority for the remaining requirement and also appealed for contribution from members for making it a reality in keeping Dimapur city clean.
The house agreed with the idea and DC Dimapur Sachin Jaiswal IAS also assured that he would extend full support for such a noble cause for the district.
With the numerous proposals for registration of societies, Moatoshi also felt the need for monitoring the registered societies by the authority about their actual performance in the ground and to see whether they are living up to their aims and objectives.
DC Dimapur reminded the members for attending the monthly DPDB meetings regularly.
Other agendas of the meeting included shifting of Grace Christian Mission School, Diphupar to Nihoto Village Dimapur. Considering the consistent good performance and also for fulfilling all the criteria, the house also recommended for grant-in-aid to Lampstand Hr. Secondary School Toluvi.
Principal, Dimapur Government College, Lilanthung gave a power point presentation and apprised the House about the ongoing activities of the college, weaknesses, strength and way forward.
