Dimapur, September 14: The Dimapur District Legal Services Authority opened five Legal Literacy Club (LLC) in five Government schools in Dimapur on September 13. The five LLC was inaugurated by Ajongba Imchen, Chief Judicial Magistrate and secretary of Dimapur DLSA. The LLC was opened at GHS Diphupar, GHS Naharbari, GHS Burma Camp, GHS Lingrijan and GHS Sarbura.
During the inaugural sessions, legal awareness programme was also held in all the schools. Ajongba Imchen explained the cornerstones and goals of LLC and its functioning. He spoke on the basic legal rights and civil liberties, human rights, fundamental duties, constitutional obligations and urged the students to take the benefit of reading legal literature materials made available to students in the Legal Literacy Club.
He further informed the students and teachers to seek the help and assistance of legal services institutions for any issues they may encounter in the nature of injustice or atrocity to any one, especially the one like child labour, child marriages, ragging, road safety, rights of disabled persons, Right to Education, protection of environment, protection of children, etc.
The schools had provided space to serve as Legal Literacy Club cell and Dimapur DLSA provide basic office equipments, computers & furniture along with legal literature booklets/brochure/pamphlets published by the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority. (Page News Service)
