Dimapur, May 22: With the rising number of COVID positive cases in Nagaland, especially at Dimapur, several private hospitals have opened their doors to treat COVID-19 positive cases. While this comes as a respite to the overburdened Government facilities, it also comes with its own set of logistical predicaments ~ one of which is housing for healthcare workers tending to the COVID positive patients.
Dimapur Christian Fellowship, Darogapathar, on learning of the difficulties faced by these healthcare workers, has heeded the clarion call and opened its doors as a resting place for them at this time. It is the first Church in Dimapur to do so.
The COVID Care Team of the Church has set up a 20-bed ‘rest house’ within the Church premises. The Church will provide basic amenities and food for these healthcare workers during the period of their stay. Earlier today, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur and Nodal Officer in charge of COVID inspected the premises and the Church has formally handed over charge to the DTF to utilize it as it deems fit.
“It is with God’s Grace and our congregation’s generosity that the Dimapur Christian Fellowship is able to open our doors and lend a hand in this fight against COVID’” said Pastor Supong.
He also thanked St. John’s Higher Secondary School for donating the beds, OM Bookstore for donating the Bibles and the congregation for their support and generosity.
