Dimapur achieves 100% placement for PMKVY’s first batch

Dimapur, January 22: With an objective to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship under its Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme has successfully placed all 220 students of 8 batches from Dimapur, Nagaland.
These candidates have found gainful employment under various job roles like F&B Service, Cabin Crews etc. All the students have joined their respective organizations post completion of their training and assessments successfully.
“I got my placement in Spice jet Airlines as a Cabin Crew. I would like to convey my gratitude to the department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana which has given us an opportunity to grab our career. Taking this opportunity I would like to encourage the youth of Nagaland those who are interested in hospitality and aviation sector to come forward and grab this opportunity organised by the Government and fulfil their dreams of becoming a successful person in life,” said an excited Asheli Yepthomi sharing her experience of training and finding a dream job.
IndiGo Airlines and Go Airways selected 37 and 16 students as Cabin Crew respectively. ITC Grand Goa & ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru selected 20 students.
The eight North Eastern States of India: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura & Sikkim have significant youth population, which faced the challenge of high youth unemployment.
Caroline Himb, another PMKVY candidate said, “I got a placement as a Cabin Crew in Go Air Airlines which has always been my dream and I would like to convey my special thanks to the department of Employment & Skill Development, Government of Nagaland and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana for giving me this wonderful opportunity and helping me achieve my dreams and lastly I would also like to encourage the youth of Nagaland to step forward and fulfill your dreams.”
“I got my placement in Star Cruise Hong Kong and I would like to convey my special thanks to the department of Employment & Skill Development, Government of Nagaland and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana for giving me this wonderful opportunity and helping me achieve my dreams and lastly I would also like to encourage the youth of Nagaland to step forward and fulfil your dreams,” shared Gifty Patton.
The Skill India Mission received a huge boost as the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s (MSDE’s) flagship programme Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana successfully registered 10 lakh placements as on January2019.
In Nagaland alone more than 1500 candidates have been certified out of which more than 900 candidates have been placed. (Page News Service)
