Different opinions not possible on Naga issue: Nagaland CM

KOHIMA, MAY 31: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today said the Core Committee is working hard to bring understanding among the Nagaa as there cannot be different opinions on the Naga political solution.
Rio, while replying to media queries on the different opinions on the expectations of solution before the next State general elections, said that the Core Committee is talking with all.
“We are talking to everybody and my point of view is that as facilitators we cannot voice anything…We have to see that they come into understanding and we are working hard”, Rio said.
The Chief Minister also expressed that there cannot be different voices and no speculations on desire for an early solution to the vexed Naga Political Issue.
Asked about the Core Committee’s meeting with NSCN(IM) leaders in Chumoukedima on May 28, Rio said “We have given our advises that they should continue to have negotiations with the Government of India for a solution to the issue”.
He also informed that all members of the Core Committee would be meeting with some of the Naga nationalist leaders adding, “Let’s see what happens”.
Meanwhile, Government spokesperson and Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu said that the meeting would be held at 6:30 p.m., on June 2, at Dimapur.
