DGCSC constructs drinking water facility

Dimapur, November 1: In a first of its kind in Dimapur Govt. College (DGC), the Dimapur Govt. College Students’ Council (DGCSC) has come up with an innovative students led infrastructural developmental project called ‘InnoBuild Project’ and constructed a drinking water facility, which was officially inaugurated by W. Manpai Phom, Administrator, DMC, Dimapur on November 1.
Talking about the project, general secretary of DGCSC Rendemo C. Tsanglao said, “InnoBuild Project is derived from two words ‘Innovation’ and ‘Building’. It emphasis on students led innovation in infrastructural development. It signifies students as agents of change”. In his speech, he said the project is not a mere project from the students’ council but a collective project of students.
Short speech was given by the project in-charge Mhonjan Lotha, MD, Woodpecker, Landscaping & Interior Designing Dimapur.
Congratulating the students’ council, principal, Prof. Sanjay Sharma acknowledged the days when DGCSC came out with this idea and how he was amazed with the students led ‘InnoBuild Project’. He acknowledged the idea behind the Project and further hoped to see DGC prospering with the introduction of the new Annual students led ‘InnoBuild Project’.
After inaugurating the project, DMC Administrator, W. Manpai Phom congratulated the students’ council for the development taken up by the council and hoped that the drinking water facility will serve the need of the students, especially in a humid place like Dimapur. He commented that the drinking water facility constructed by DGCSC under InnoBuild Project will act as a stepping stone towards plastic free Dimapur. Taking the platform, he announced that DMC is working to make Dimapur a plastic free city in 90 days.
