Development of NE need of the hour: Governor

Dimapur, September 28: Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya Governor has stated that the need of the hour is to work towards development of North East states in the country. He said that as India gets recognized as a formidable force in the world, there is an urgent need for connecting the North Eastern states, so that there is equal growth in all parts of the country.
He was addressing the Deccan Chamber of Commerce Industries & Agriculture Pune Annual Award function as the chief guest on September 27 at Hyatt Regency, Pune.
Acharya called on the industrialist to play their role in emotional integration and stated that business and commerce have a social responsibility to perform. He opined that the concept of profit making has changed to corporate responsibility and that it was an era where social issues and problems intersect with business areas.

He called on the DCCIA to come forward and take pro-active part in the various programmes initiated by the Government of India such as Clean India, Digital India, Start up India and Make in India.
The Governor congratulated the award recipients and wished them many more years of continued success. This year four awards for lifetime achievement, award for excellence – public service, award of excellence – best industrialist and award of excellence – social service were given. Over the years a quite number of eminent personalities and industry leaders have been the recipient of the awards.
