Departmental Nodal Officers meeting held at Kohima


Dimapur, March 18: A meeting of all the Departmental Nodal Officer was held at DC’s conference hall, Kohima on March 18. The meeting was held in connection with the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019.
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Anoop Khinchi briefing the Nodal Officers said that they have been appointed basically to communicate all the information in regard to Election to their respective Departments.
He sought their cooperation in order to pass the information properly to all the polling personnel of their respective Departments and to ensure that the polling personnel attends the training without fail. He also thanked all the departments for extending their cooperation in submitting the incumbency list as required for the election purpose.
ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa also stressed on the important role of nodal officers for the conduct of the forthcoming election. She said that the office of DEO will directly contact the nodal officers of each department to pass the information in regard to election matters and added that their main duty was to ensure that the information reach the person concerned.
She also said that the appointment order of polling personnel for each department should reached the person concerned and ensure that the person attends the training adding that in case of any person failing to attend the training then the nodal officer will be held responsible.
ADC further added that no exemption of polling personnel will be entertained and if any such cases arises on Medical ground then it will be exempted only with the recommendation of the Medical Board so constituted for the election purpose. She also reminded the departments who have not submitted the vehicles list to submit it within a day.
SDO (Sadar) Kohima, Longasen who is also the Nodal Officer of Training and Personnel Management said that the first phase of training will start with Presiding Officers and 1st Polling Officers on March 22 and 2nd and 3rd Polling Officials on March 23 at Kohima College, Kohima. He requested the Nodal Officers to keep active contact with the DEO’s Office for the successful conduct of the election.
Master Trainer, T. Chubayanger Project Officer, Labour Deptt. also informed that for the training, the room will be alloted according to the serial no. given in the appointment order and requested the nodal officer to make sure that the serial number is visible while passing the appointment order to the polling personnel of their respective Departments. He hoped that with this exercise the training will be held successfully.
AEO, Toshimeren chairing the meeting said that the Nodal Officer will be the link between the DEO’s Office and their respective Departments in regard to information related to election matters. (Page News Service)
