Dimapur, February 22: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari has informed that the delay in Dimapur-Kohima road being constructed by two contractors, M/s Ramky-ECi (JV) and M/s Gayatri Project Ltd was due to acute cash flow shortage faced by the contractors.
This was revealed by Lok Sabha MP, Tokheho Yepthomi citing a letter from the Union Minister.
Tokheho said that NHIDCL has already taken various steps to mitigate the cash flow problems being faced by the contractors. The contractors have also assured that 2 lane road up to Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) level will be constructed by February 2020 and 4 lane road by April 2020.
Citing the Union Minister, Tokheho said that contractors have already been asked to rectify defects in the DBM layer immediately.
The Union Minister also informed that the project was being monitored at the level of Managing Director, NHIDCL with review meetings being held every fortnight and Governor of Nagaland is also reviewing projects monthly.
